Medium of Instruction

Programme up to B D level is offered in the Malayalam and English medium. Higher education is in the English medium.

Courses Offered

Being the only regional seminary under the Senate of Serampore College (University) in Kerala, the seminary offers two graduate level courses: Integrated Bachelor of Divinity and Bachelor of Divinity (B D) in Malayalam medium. The qualification for Integrated B D is Plus Two or equivalent, and for B D is a University Degree in any subject. The duration for Integrated B D is 5 years and B D is 4 years. The Seminary also functions as a centre for M Min, D Min, D C S, and B C S courses offered by the Senate of Serampore College.

The Seminary offers Master of Theology (M Th) and Doctor of Theology (D Th) through the Federated Faculty for Research in Religion and Culture (FFRRC), which is a joint venture of the Orthodox and Marthoma Seminaries in Kottayam and this Seminary. The medium of instruction of these courses is English.

Distant education for Laity, Short-term courses in Counseling and Refresher courses for Laity and Clergy are also held periodically.

Admission Procedure

An application for admission and prospectus may be obtained by contacting the office of the Principal or the Registrar for a specific degree programme on payment of Rs. 200 (non-refundable). The applicants are required to submit official transcripts of all school/ university records, and reference and recommendation/sponsorship letters along with the filled application form.

The entrance examination consists of:

  • Bible Knowledge
  • General Knowledge
  • English language

Qualified candidates will be called for an interview. The selected candidate is expected to pay the first installment of the fee. As a seminary working closely associated with the Church, the KUT Seminary admits candidates who are sponsored or recommended by respective heads of the church.

Accommodation

The Seminary stands committed to the benefits of residential, full-time community life. All the students are expected to stay on campus throughout the programme. The Seminary has comfortable hostel facilities available separately for men and women. A limited number of quarters are also available on campus for married students.
